"Raviyon: The Guardian of Tomorrow .Season 1, Episode 4
The Beast Within
The massive Variant roared, its voice shaking the very foundation of the warehouse. Raviyon steadied his plasma blade, his eyes locked on the grotesque creature. Its form was a nightmarish amalgamation of human and Mortivis-X traits—a hulking mass of muscles, twisted flesh, and bioluminescent veins that pulsed like a living heartbeat.
“Kiera, any weak spots?” Raviyon muttered, circling the creature.
“Scanning,” Kiera replied, her tone tense. “Its core seems unstable—focus your attacks on the chest. But be careful, it’s generating a lot of energy.”
The beast lunged, its massive claws swiping at Raviyon. He dodged, the blow smashing into a nearby column and sending debris flying. Using the momentum, Raviyon leapt onto the creature’s arm and drove his blade into its shoulder. The beast howled, swinging wildly to shake him off.
From the shadows, Lira watched, her expression unreadable. “Impressive,” she murmured. “But will it be enough?”
The battle raged on, each clash of Raviyon’s blade against the creature’s hide sending sparks into the air. The warehouse trembled under the strain of their fight. Raviyon’s advanced suit enhanced his reflexes, but the Variant’s sheer strength was overwhelming. A single misstep sent him crashing into a stack of crates, the impact knocking the wind out of him.
“Raviyon, you need to finish this quickly,” Kiera urged. “The energy readings are spiking dangerously. If it overloads…”
“Understood,” Raviyon groaned, pulling himself to his feet. “No pressure.”
He activated the suit’s overdrive mode, the plasma blade glowing brighter as power surged through it. With renewed determination, he charged at the beast, weaving through its attacks with precision. A well-timed leap brought him face-to-face with its glowing chest. He drove the blade deep into its core, twisting it to maximize the damage.
The creature let out a final, earsplitting roar as its body convulsed. A blinding explosion of green light engulfed the room, and Raviyon was thrown backward. When the dust settled, the beast lay motionless, its once-pulsing veins now dim.
Raviyon staggered to his feet, his suit’s systems struggling to stabilize. Lira approached, her glowing eyes meeting his.
“You’ve passed the test,” she said, her voice calm but tinged with an enigmatic edge. “Few could stand against a Guardian-class Variant and live. You’re stronger than I anticipated.”
“This isn’t a game,” Raviyon snapped. “You’re endangering countless lives.”
“Endangering? No. Transforming,” Lira corrected. “The world you cling to is dying, Raviyon. Mortivis-X is the catalyst for a new era. You could be part of it.”
“I’ll never join you,” he said firmly.
Lira’s expression softened, almost wistful. “Perhaps not yet. But the time will come when you’ll have to choose. Until then, Guardian.”
With a wave of her hand, a blinding flash enveloped her. When Raviyon’s vision cleared, she was gone.
Back at the base, Kiera’s hologram flickered to life as Raviyon removed his damaged helmet. “That was too close,” she said, her concern evident. “What did Lira say?”
“She’s convinced Mortivis-X is humanity’s salvation,” Raviyon replied. “And she believes I’ll join her cause.”
Kiera frowned. “We need to uncover the truth about Project Genesis. If we can understand its origins, we might find a way to stop this.”
Raviyon nodded. “Then we dig deeper. Lira’s playing a dangerous game, and I’m not about to let her win.”
As the two prepared for the next phase of their mission, the faint hum of Mortivis-X energy lingered in the air, a haunting reminder of the battles yet to come.
